Thank you. For taking care of Shadowheart down there.

Yeah. Koby was there, we did ok

Though if one more entity in this place steals parts of us for the sake of their games I imagine I'll do something I'll regret next time I get them back

[ The worst part for him, as it always is: impotence. ]

[ Still in the habit of voice to text when there's nobody around to hear him - and angry, and tired, and scared - it's time for the customary trauma dumping on Bob hours. ]

It's like waking up to find someone cleared everything out of your home while you slept, and not for the first time
You don't know how they're getting in so you can't keep them out, and you're left trying to live your life like your house isn't empty and fundamentally incapable of serving any of its basic functions. Always while everything you'd normally have the tools to fix is actively going to hell

I'm surprised we haven't had any major fallout yet

[ Read: can somebody else please have a massive crash out about this so there's a precedent when I do it ]

[ It is fucking awful. And it's a balm, albeit a brief one, to see someone else put that down in pixels. ]

Yeah
I can't blame them. I've done the same too much lately, when everything's been about as okay as it can be under the circumstances
Think about the unknown inevitable too long and most people would go mad

[ But... ]

Don't think about it enough and you get complacent.

[ It's a solid theory, but if it's a matter of dead zones over active theft - dead zones affecting all powers in all people from all worlds - then what the fuck does that imply? The number of things he doesn't want to think about stack equally against the number of things he has to. ]

Notice it anywhere in particular on your search?

I don't think it's a passive effect. I think any dead zones and interference arise when it's convenient or entertaining for the things that need us powerless, or the places that need to keep us in or out.
